Workshop and Performance Programs
Summer Stars under the direction of HCT veteran Jennifer Downs, with a returning staff of theatre professionals, is offering three separate 4 and a half week summer sessions.

All Programs begin June 7th


New This Year!!!
"Beginning Acting Keiki Program"
Mornings for 4 to 7 year olds! Students will be introduced to acting in the form of games and workshops in this fun playfull program.  They will rotate through different classes to keep their interest peaked and let their creativity thrive.

The Keiki program ends July 7th with a showcase performance at Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center.

THE ART OF ACTING
Morning Program
4 1/2 weeks - 8am to Noon, Monday to Friday
The "Art of Acting" (morning and ages 8 to 16) an exciting in-depth five week workshop program offers an intensive theatre skill-building & training opportunity. Students will be taught theatre techniques to help them shine! Students develope acting skills by exploring blocking, projection, characters and working with a script. Each day focuses on a different aspect of theatre, including: costume building & sewing, make-up, script analysis, character development, dance, music, lighting, aerial silks, mime, and stage combat.

The morning program ends July 7th with a showcase performance at Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center.

Tuition: $300 plus ticket sales

THE ART OF PERFORMING
Afternoon Program
5 weeks- 1pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday
"The Art of Performing" (afternoon ages 8-16) program offers participants a full theatre experience in the production of Aladdin Jr., a one act musical. Welcome to Agrabah, City of Enchantment, where every beggar has a story and every camel has a tail! All of your favorite characters are here in this stage adaptation of the Disney hit, including Aladdin, Jasmine, and of course, the Genie. Filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides, audiences' spirits will soar with excitement. Most of all, the tuneful, Academy award-winning score with songs including "A Whole New World" and "Friend Like Me" will certainly make this musical a favorite for many years to come!
